Retired Estacada resident for over 50 years, PJ is a past Center staff member, now an active volunteer for the Center, she hosts a walking program for Seniors. The group walks along the river and has been known to clean up trash. In the past, PJ has served the community by being a School Board Member, Assistant Director for the “A Touch of Class Experience Stage Show” raising funds to support Estacada. Race Director of the Oregon Road Runners Club for the Best Dam Run. Currently, she is an active member of Trailer Keepers of Oregon and the Grange association. PJ’s past work experience as Claims Manager, working in a professional environment with other team members responsible for setting and adhering to department budget and reporting results and her community service would benefit the Estacada Community Center as a Board Member.
Susan has lived in the Estacada area for many years. The first 30 were about 5 miles out of town on Hwy 211. About 20 years ago she moved in town. Susan was a Massage Therapist for many years she worked out of Dr. Herbert’s Chiropractic Clinic until she started her own business at the Center then moving her business to her home part-time. Susan was born in Portland, she moved around a lot. After she was married in 1967, she moved to Ketchikan, AK with her husband, then moved to Idaho and finally back to this area where they raised 3 wonderful boys, now men. She enjoys playing chicken foot at the Center and bowling. She is a country girl by nature and cares about others. Now that she is a senior she doesn’t see 70 as old as she once did. She hopes that she will have the opportunity to serve on the Community Center Board and help others.
Tami is married with 1 son and is a retired business owner. She is an active Center volunteer delivering meals to home bound seniors and helping at the front desk. After college, she taught school and coached for 4 years in Oregon and Washington. She helped run a tackle shop on the gulf for a couple years and then got into sales of sporting goods and toys where she traveled throughout the U.S. and also overseas. Tami went to work for the family business and for 21 years ran the outside sales force as well as overseeing the accounting for the company. She was one of the lead sales people and helped design fitness rooms and provide equipment for the hospitality industry as well as corporate businesses and fitness clubs. Tami is a 20-year cancer survivor and ran Golf Tournament fundraisers giving to the Komen foundation for more than 10 years raising thousands of dollars and helping to bring awareness to Breast Cancer. She has a passion for helping others, with many years volunteering at the schools as well as the Community sports programs coaching soccer and basketball, in her spare time her passion is playing golf, gardening and fishing. She also service on the board as VP for Oregon Pub Links golf organization. Tami knows that the Center is a lifeline to so many area residents and feels that with all of her past experience with service and leadership roles that she would be a true asset to the board in assisting to continue to grow the outreach and help the ECC board in a thoughtful manner.
Shirley has been an Estacada resident for 40 years and she is a retired school bus driver where she worked for 22 years. Shortly are her retirement she was asked to help prepare meals for the Meals on Wheels program. She also prepares dinner for the Center Dinner/Dance fundraisers. Shirley is an active community member and has volunteered numerous times to assist the Estacada Community, she has a heart of service and enjoys helping others. Shirley is very connected to the Center enjoys working with Center volunteers immensely and is looking forward to donating her time as a Board member if selected.
Mike has been on the Center Board for 3 years, he has been an active volunteer of the Center for 5 years. Mike worked many years in the Financial Services industry is various positions. Currently, he works as a Rural Postal Carrier. Mike is a United States Veteran of the Marine Corp. He served during the first Gulf War. He is an American Legion member. Mike enjoys helping his community and looks forward to helping the Center if elected for a second term.
Susan has had the pleasure of residing in Estacada for 35 years. In that time, she and her husband have raised 3 boys, owned and operated their own business successfully for ten years. Susan worked for the local school district and she has been a real estate agent in the area for going on 19 years. Susan enjoys teaching Zumba and dance fitness classes at the Community Center. Susan believes Estacada is quite fortunate to have such a great resource in the Community center. Susan looks forward to the opportunity of becoming a board member to help with the wonderful resources we have that is the Community Center.
